RTW—Living in another world

Today’s RTW topic is……drumroll…….
If you could live in the story world of one book, what would it be?

Yeah, the answer is Harry Potter. I mean, duh. Show me one person who wouldn’t want to enroll in Hogwarts or take a stroll through Diagon Alley, and I’ll show you a LIAR. But that answer was a wee too easy to come up with, so let me pick a first runner-up in the event that Hogsmeade should be unable to perform its escapist duties.

When I was a kid, my sister and I would pretend that we were BFFs living next door to each other in these fabulous and amazing houses. I always imagined I was living in the house from the movie Clue.

My sister, ever the laid-back California Florida girl, opted to pretend she lived in the house from The Parent Trap (Hayley Mills version, not Lindsay Lohan).

Putting aside the fact that it would take some pretty lax HOA regulations to allow these two houses to be built next door to each other, these are movies, not books. But how funny that my tastes from when I was 9 aren’t much different than they are today? Opulence and architecture? Yes, please!

That established, I choose to live in the world of Pride and Prejudice. One word:

What about you? What story world would you live in?

Narnia. Not just Narnia itself; I also want to have a look at the Professor's house.

I love this post. It'd have to be somewhere in Paris, but hopefully not as the hunchback. Come to think of it, it all depends on who am I living as doesn't it? I think I'd have to chose the rental house in Spain where you can walk to see the fights (bulls) and live with Hemingway, as in the Sun Also Rises.

Pemberley — niiiiiice. Clue Mansion — veerrry niiiiice.

But I'm still going with Dinotopia. It fulfills all my scientist geekiness, plus it's a utopia! 🙂

Can you imagine all you could do in a house that size?

Pemberley. Or, Cair Paravel in Narnia.

The Clue how would be lovely to visit! Notice I said "visit" and not "live in." Big houses kind of creepy me out! 🙂
