I have the technological prowess of a chinchilla.
So naturally I thought it was a good idea to try to design my own website. I’ve barely even started down the path, but it’s been an eye-opening experience so far.
Lesson 1: Did you know that if you buy a domain from one company (let’s call them Go Daddy) and decide to go with another company for web hosting (like, say, Bluehost), a very mean regulator named ICANN sticks you in the penalty box and basically holds your website hostage for 60 days? Yeah, me either. Or maybe you did know that, in which case, any more tips for me before I accidentally stumble into a very hard-learned Lesson 2? I’d like to get this thing up and running before 2014.
Anyhow, today is Day 61, my friends, and now that I’m no longer trapped in the iron grasp of ICANN’s clutch, I’m off to do some website designin’. Wish me luck!
