Today the lovelies at YA Highway are asking:
If your WIP was music, what song would it be?
I think I’ve talked about this before, but let me share it again. Hands down, unequivocally, no doubt about it, FOUR STONES would be “White Blank Page” by Mumford & Sons. That song gives me chills every time I hear it because it is just so perfect. There’s one line in particular—such a short, simple line—that encapsulates so much of what I tried to portray:
A white blank page/And a swelling rage
That is my book. That is Devon’s journey: a fresh start that doesn’t wind up being so fresh after all, and a building sense of “I’m not going to take this anymore.”
I think I’ve posted the song on this blog before, but here’s a really cool acoustic version if you’re so inclined.
